My students have learning disabilities and tend to be more empathetic, due to the hardships they face. They are very comforting and offers help when needed. They have very creative and imaginative ideas; like to tell stories and share pictures. They seek a great deal of attention and sometimes have a difficult time establishing friends due to their home lives.
At our school, we work to provide a student-focused educational program in a safe environment that allows every student to take the next step to success.
We have high expectations to develop the whole child, with emphasis on each child's unique strengths and needs. We teach and model Lifelong Guidelines and Life Skills such as Friendship, Caring and No Put Downs. This helps to prepare students for daily living in today's world. It is with combined effort of home and school that we mold the hearts and minds of our children.
Many of my students do not have access to computers and/or printers at home. By donating to our project, you will help with my Special Needs students by providing items needed to complete Science/Social Studies projects required in their General Education Classrooms. By providing the students with a color printer, ink and headphones the students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand instead of constantly worrying about how they will finish their projects. It is distracting and stressful for many of my students when they can not bring from home what is expected. I feel that they are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when some of this stress of is taken away from them. I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thank you so much.
