My Students

Black and white speech homework worksheets are boring, and usually end up in the trash can before making it home!

My speech therapy students range in ages between 5 years old to 10 years old.

My students are diagnosed with some type of speech and language disorder. All students want to "fit in" with their peers. A student who has a speech or language impairment may have trouble "fitting in." My goal is that my students will be able to perform and communicate like their peers.

My Project

I usually assign speech homework once a week to help reinforce the speech and language skills taught in the therapy room. I have found if the students are actively involved in creating their own homework, then they are more likely to complete and practice their homework at home. I have some awesome software that will allow me to make colorful BINGO games, Go Fish games, and simple board games. My students need a color printer and color ink to create colorful speech and language homework to reinforce speech skills at home.

Funding this project will help my students with their speech and language skills.

The project will help over 60 students this year! My students' speech and language deficits are negatively impacting their ability to communicate effectively in the classroom, socialize with peers, and follow oral directions.
