Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with bilingual students, many of them new to the country. All of them are at different stages of language progression, with the bulk at the beginning and emerging locations. A hundred percent of my students come from low-income or no-income families, and for this reason, all of them receive complimentary breakfast and lunch.
Many parents are unable to provide school supplies, uniforms and pay for school trips.
The school provides many backpacks with school supplies. In addition, uniforms are given to the students because they are living in shelters. The school has financial assistance for students who cannot afford to pay for educational trips. Many of my students arrive very early to school, and at dismissal, wish they could stay.
My Project
Our class was previously donated a color printer, however, our color ink has ran out multiple times. For this project I am requesting color ink, storage bins, and a paper trimmer. Our class will use the color ink for art activities, and independent work activities.
Color ink will make our Kindergarten class brighter and colorful.
I will also utilize the color ink to print out alphabet charts, number charts, sound charts and more. I will print them out for each student and laminate them, so they can use them at any time. The storage bins will be used to store our art supplies. Thanks for reading!
