My students need access to color toner for our in-class printer in order to print final projects, but also to print pages with ideas and inspirations. Sometimes color makes all the difference in the world.

My Students
I teach art and digital design to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Our school is classified as 76% of students being economically disadvantaged and 95% of students being minorities. We are located in an urban area of Tallahassee, Florida.
In my classroom, the number one goal is to always try.
When life is full of disappointment and frustration, it is easy to forget about the beauty of creativity. Once we have acquired the knowledge and skills of basic art theory, I seek opportunities for my students to apply art to the world around them in a productive and purposeful way.
My Project
In our art classroom, students are able to print pages from the Internet in order to discover ideas and inspirations for projects. Sometimes color makes all the difference in the world when you need to get the creativity flowing. It is important that my students are able to not only access images, but use the color and detail in a printed image to storyboard ideas and collaborate with peers.
Printing in color will also be invaluable for my digital classes to have the opportunity to see their designs in real life and not just on a computer screen.
