This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day my students walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title I school in Los Angeles, California where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school, because they want to learn all they can, so they can be successful one day.

My Project

The technology I am requesting is a printer and ink to print vocabulary pictures for our new comer students and reading centers for our emergent readers. The color materials will help students develop early literacy skills, word fluency, and math skills. It will be a wonderful experience to have more hands-on materials available for students to use in my classroom. The literacy materials will help students develop phonemic awareness and reading fluency. My students will be better prepared with the basic skills to continue to the next grade. I can also print centers for our students who need math intervention.
