My students need these tempera cakes and watercolor varieties to be more creative when painting rather than just using primary colors which are on hand and mixing to make intermediate colors as well.
Our small community has been impacted by Hurricane Maria. We have many new students from Puerto Rico who have enrolled in our school. We are a great small community and for many years our students have focused mostly on painting, and now I want to expand their knowledge and have them create different utilitarian objects which align with our county standards. Students will be learning about art careers as well as how everyday objects that are all around us are art and created by artists. I also would like for them to do multimedia collage projects to learn about the elements of arts and the principles of design. These multimedia projects are one day projects that can be completed so if new students return to their country, they will have a completed project to take with them.
My Project
If this project is fully funded it will be amazing for the students because they will be able to use the tempera cakes easily to enhance the visual appeal of their paintings. The tempera cakes are also easy for the younger to students to use and are not as messy as traditional tempera paint. The multicolor watercolor paints are also easy for the younger students to use and last a very long time. Both of these products will be great because we typically only use primary colors and then students mix the primary colors to make secondary colors. They also have never experimented with using tempera cakes either.
