Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My campus is a Title I school located in a high crime area of Dallas, Texas. All of our students are from a low socioeconomic neighborhood; most of the children are from single parent homes and are eligible for free breakfast, free lunch, and help with uniform purchases. It is important that while at school they have a safe, clean, and happy place to thrive and learn. They are loving, bright, and eager to learn and to share their knowledge. The students especially enjoy being exposed to new and exciting learning activities.
My Project
My students are in need of a color printer and toner in order to add excitement to the different materials we use in the classroom. Having a color printer will allow me to print math activities, science activities, and pictures to bring to life a world of experiences for the children. In prekindergarten, we use color in order to make the learning activities more inviting.
The children are more likely to be excited about learning if the materials they are using are in color.
My students are so young and need to be exposed to many meaningful, age-appropriate and colorful experiences. With your help, this will be possible.
