My Students
I have a class of 21 eager and awesome kindergarten students. They love coming to school and are excited to do the many activities that are planned each day! Many of them have not attended Pre-K and are experiencing school for the first time. These students are having to catch up with those who were in the Pre-K program.
A large percentage come from low income families.
Our school also has a significant population of English language learners. They live in a small rural community. Academic resources are limited in our small community.
My Project
We will soon be learning about 3D shapes. What better way to learn than through play! I know my kindergarten students will love an LED tablet. This will be something totally new for them to learn with. Young students really get excited about color (so do their teachers). I think that having this tablet and 3D shapes will be the hit of the classroom.
Being able to hold and see through the shapes will help them to understand how the shapes are made.
Playing with the shapes and building with the light is going to encourage them to spend more time discovering the attributes of the different shapes.
