In our Title I School our like many other schools across the county, most of the children come from low income, poverty stricken homes. At HRA each and every child receives breakfast and lunch daily at no cost. Many live in low-income housing, hotels, and some are even in shelters. For many in my class, English is their second language and some have special needs. With that being said, they all love to come to school and want to learn. They deserve all the resources we can give them.
My amazing students are charming, smart, sweet, little 5 and 6 year-old children who come to school every day, craving knowledge.
These kiddos come in the door ready to learn and have fun. They will laugh, cry, hug, giggle, play, and learn all in one place: their classroom. Therefore, I am eager and ready to help each of them achieve their dreams.
My kindergarten classroom like most classrooms across the country are made up of a smorgasbord of different size tables in various degrees of disrepair. I have rectangle and round tables many of which are chipped and well used! It is also very hard to arrange the room so that all 20+ students can see the whiteboard, easel, or document camera with the tables I have. I also have my tables color coded and the children change tables often.
With the blue clover shaped activity table I am requesting, I will begin the transformation of the arrangement of our classroom!
The vision I have for my classroom is to have 4-5 of these tables in various colors to give a more uniform look. This will also be a better way for the kids to work in groups on projects and games. I want the kids to be proud of their classroom and having new tables will help!
