This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 30 wonderful students from various backgrounds. There are many challenges my students face daily, whether it be a medical condition, learning disability, or strenuous custody battles. We are a Title I School, and the majority of our students are from low-income households. With all of the adversity in the classroom, my students show up every day willing and ready to learn.
We pack every day with lessons that challenge our minds.

My Project
Every three weeks my students receive new materials for virtual learning. We have daily reading groups. Currently I have 4 reading groups, named after colors. These reading groups are only 15 minutes per group, it is even shorter when I have 5 groups. It is challenging for students to locate materials.
I am going to print each student’s books on colored paper to correlate with their Guided Reading Books.
This will help the students be able to locate their books. With paper books the students are able to annotate, underline, and highlight key parts of the books.
