Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I currently have 56 students in my fourth-grade class. My students are great students who have a love of technology, reading, writing, science, math, and social studies. They are very excited about learning, and I want to make the class interactive. I want to help them succeed in their challenging environment. I teach an inclusion class. I have four students who are autistic in my class.

The students in my classroom are a diverse group of children who come from intricate family backgrounds.

Our school is located across the street from two homeless shelters for families. It is an upstart program that helps students and their families get help to find permanent housing. I teach at a low-income school and in a classroom full of eager learners who are enthusiastic about coming to school every day!

My Project

My students have been writing their essays on paper all school year. I want them to have a laptop that allows them to type their essays and print them out once they are done. This laptop will help them learn how to type up a word document and even format the document to its correct format. The laptop will also teach them how to type on a standard keyboard. We currently have three touchscreen laptops that don't have keyboards.

This device will also prepare my students for their academic future and their future career.

Not all students will go to college but whatever business they land in they will have the knowledge of typing a document.
