This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Throughout their academic career at HFA, students are offered unique learning opportunities and experiences. As the seniors begin to get excited and navigate the processes of making post-secondary plans, it's essential that the counseling team is providing them with ample resources.
HFA Seniors showcase their dedication to their academic work and their future by fully engaging in the college-going culture created at the academy.
Having a chance to celebrate our seniors' successes is so important for our culture!
My Project
As our seniors prepare for their college transition, our College Decision Day allows us time and space to recognize and congratulate our seniors on their post-secondary plans whether it be trade school, community college or a 4-year institution. Following the celebration ceremony, we host a "reception" for seniors only that will include games, representation from local colleges, prizes and more!
By donating to our project, you will show our students the importance and strength of our community as well as be contributing to this event, a memorable one for graduating seniors.
All donors will contribute to raffle prizes and materials needed for the decor and activities. The biggest impact that donations will have be towards the College Kits giveaways. Many students are unaware and ill-prepared for the items they will need as college students and may not even be able to afford them when they get there. We would like to put together 3-6 College Kits to giveaway to seniors during this reception that will include items such as: cleaning wipes, toilet tissue, schools supplies (notebooks, pencils, pens, etc.) and more. Your donations are truly appreciated in ensuring we continue to create unique experiences for our students and prepare them for the next steps in their lives!
