College Decision Day at ARHS

My students need various supplies for their college journey so that we can build excitement for gradation as well as gift a laptop to a senior for their college studies.

My Students

We are a public high school in Summerville, SC and we opened in August 2008. The school’s mission is that we are committed to providing educational opportunities in a safe, supportive environment which fosters pride, inspires excellence, promotes respect, and builds strong relationships.

Our senior class is close to 500 students and we want to benefit as many students as possible and believe the best way to do so is through small gifts to give away.

On May 4th, we will be celebrating our seniors as they announce their college and career decisions for after graduation. We want to remind our students that their education does not end at graduation and this milestone is just the beginning!

My Project

We don’t want our students taking this milestone of committing to a college and/or career for granted. We want to help our students celebrate and also encourage the underclassmen to pursue post-secondary education.

We are honoring our seniors by announcing their college decisions on stage in front of the underclassmen.

We are celebrating with them by inviting our community members, parents, students, teachers, and faculty to cheer them on!

We are asking for donations so that we can purchase a laptop for one of our graduating seniors, an e-reader for them to be able to download textbooks, and two micro fridges for those attending colleges and residing on campus. These items are purchases that our students might not be able to afford otherwise. These gifts will help create excitement for our seniors as well as encourage and build anticipation for our underclassmen.

Our hope is that this event will encourage and motivate our rising seniors to reflect upon their own college decisions and inspire them to work hard towards their own College Decision Day event!
