I teach at a Title I high school and am fortunate enough to teach higher level mathematics. My students are resilient and are active participants in their school community. Recently, my students even gathered together to create a National Math Honor Society chapter at my high school.
Many of my students have never set foot on a college campus and are worried about the college application process .
They are all taking college-level mathematics with me as their instructor and are beginning to think about their academic future and where to attend college.
I have students who love to learn and want to build a better future for themselves. With your financial support and generosity, they will be able to visit a college, experience a college tour, and learn what questions they should have when thinking about a college to apply to.
I have amazing students with big dreams. We talk about college all the time and they have so many questions. Going on a college trip will tie in all of our conversations and motivate my students in their college application journey. It will also give them an ideas as to what different colleges look for in applications so that they can prepare when it is their time to apply. It also will be the only opportunity that many of my students will have to visit a college, as the process can be quite expensive for families without the means to do so.
