My students need a laptop computer to help them to work at home on their senior essays, college scholarships, college applications, and homework.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
All of the students I work with are economically challenged and most will be first generation college students. Most of them do not have a computer at home, and by having a laptop that they could checkout they would be able to work at home.
This school is in an area that is considered one the poorest in the country.
Without programs such as the one I work for, many of these students will fall through the cracks. The majority are minority students, and many of these students face incredible challenges at home, having to work full time jobs in order to help their families survive. Because of these challenges, many of these students struggle in school and need all the interventions that they can get.
At this time we have a couple of old, refurbished computers that our students use while at school, but once they are home they do not have access to any computers. By having a laptop computer, it will allow students to work at home on their senior essays, college scholarships, college applications, and homework.
Our goal with this program is to get 100% of these students to have a plan before they leave high school, so that they can improve their quality of life. Our goal is that every student attend college or a trade school.
As an economically challenged student myself, who grew up in this community, I know firsthand how difficult it is to succeed in school when your family is doing everything just to survive.
With your help you will provide an opportunity that these students would not have otherwise. This laptop will give them one more tool to be able to reach their goal in furthering their education.
