Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year, I have the most energetic and eager group of students ever! They are super social and love the attention that collaborative groups allow.
When my students collaborate, they want feedback that helps them to stay on topic.
Because they already have a list of questions each day that emphasize the important objectives, they require only minimal additional tools to cinch their optimal success in their learning adventure!
The unique questions that my students create for themselves to answer each day proves to me that there is absolutely no limit to their potential.
My Project
Students need differentiation. Collaborative groups provide them with the social and emotional connections needed to enhance and enrich their daily learning experiences. Whether they are planning their work around blocks of time that include "brain breaks," or their group decides to work straight through and reward themselves at the end of a successful practice session, helping them have quality materials will stimulate their curiosity and create an active learning environment.
Many of my students (40%) are English language learners.
I truly believe in their talent: they are hard-working and believe in helping each other, so the process of acquiring skills in their Reading classes each day will be encouraged by my being able to provide support materials such as brain break games that include the social-emotion components we use daily.
