Help me give my students DASH, the award-winning robot. Student's will get to watch their virtual coding turn into tangible learning experiences in real time. DASH guides students of all experience levels through challenges to inspire tomorrow’s inventors.
Our kindergarten through fourth grade MTSS Enrichment groups are full of inquisitive, energetic, unique and creative students. These students attend a Title 1 school where more than half the student body live in a low income household. One hundred three students come to my room thirty minutes to an hour daily.
Our student's love hands-on projects that allow their curiosity to flow.
Friday's in my room are set aside for STEM discovery based learning and the introduction to robotics. This project will provide opportunities for students to learn coding by trial and error.
All of the students are adventurous, ambitious, willing to undertake new enterprises, and have a strong desire for success. We work together, we value one another, and we celebrate our accomplishments as one big family!
My Project
Every day, classrooms try to provide opportunities for collaboration and hands-on learning that inspire their students. DASH will provide exactly that! Five DASH robots will provide MTSS Enrichment students small group interactions for learning to code. This project will add variety, challenges and additional opportunities to STEM Fridays.
DASH is designed for K-5 students, with step-by-step lessons to cover six fundamental coding concepts that engage students in hands-on activities and project-based learning.
DASH provides a concrete way to teach an abstract concept–coding; it is the new literacy.
The comprehensive curricular resources of DASH will enable students to practice their critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills while also developing 21st-century skills. DASH will ignite curiosity and inspire confidence in our students.
