Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a dynamic class full of the most kind-hearted, hard working, and creative students. They come from low income and foster families, as well as other countries so some are just learning English. These students put everything they have in order to be successful in all academic areas.
The students constantly encourage each other to complete a task and do their best.
They all communicate and collaborate with each other in a positive manner!
The students' growth mindsets have improved tremendously.
At the beginning of the year many students didn't think they were good at anything. Now, they know that certain projects and assigments may take some time and that they will learn from their mistakes. These students know it is important to keep on trying.
My Project
This 30 space carpet will give students a new place to work and collaborate. Not all students work best in chairs and desks. Some students need a different seating arrangement to help them concentrate and complete work.
This carpet is also a perfect location for the whole class to have discussions about what we are learning.
The students are much more engaged when sitting together because they can see and hear each other's strategies.
I'm striving to help these students to be college and career ready by learning how to successfully work together with others in a comfortable and safe environment!
