Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 8th graders from Tuffree Middle School have joined our Falcon Films Digital Media class with the goal of creating daily news broadcasts that are viewed school wide as our morning announcements. It is through their desire and passion for filming, editing, and video production that this program is growing far beyond its original parameters.
The students who have joined the Falcon Films Program are, simply put, phenomenal.
They come in early each day to create the morning announcements viewed daily by our school. Depending on the project that we are working on, my kids will sacrifice their own time during break, lunch, before school, and after school to get their filming assignments done. My kids are hard working, dependable, and I could not have asked for a better crop of kids to work with.
My Project
The kids in my Falcon Films class are blessed to work with technology every day to create fun filming projects that they will get to share with the entire campus. A few things that we are fundraising for (bigger camera bags and tripod bags) will make their lives easier when transporting their equipment from one location to another. The new camera we are hoping to get will allow group nine to capture videos with much higher resolution than their current equipment. We are also fundraising for new boom mic poles and dead cats for increased sound quality. Lastly, we are fundraising for portable lights that students can take around campus for better interview lighting. We are hoping that with these new pieces of equipment, our students will be able to implement what they have learned in our lessons about how to utilize equipment, proper filming angles, and proper lighting.
