My students do a lot of experiments and hands-on activities. Students who don't do well in other subjects can succeed in this class.
They constantly come up with ideas on their own..questions they have about why things work or why they are way they are.
One of my students last year who has always hated school started asking questions about different things and so I would allow him time on Fridays to experiment. He developed an interest and looked forward to it.
Having a fridge in my class will mean we can store some of the cold materials needed for experiments. We can also store some chemicals that have to stay cold.
Students love doing dissections.
They usually take more than one day but at the present time, we have no way to store them. Having a fridge would mean we can complete the dissections the next day.
Having a freezer attached to the fridge means we can experiment with different freezing temperatures. There is a big difference in seeing what happens to things as opposed to reading it in a book.
