My Students
Our 8:1:2 class consists of an array of secondary students with Autism. They each have unique strengths and abilities.
Student success is our number one priority.
As the students get ready to exit and obtain paid employment they will work jobs throughout the school and community. The students truly benefit from these interactions between staff and other students throughout the building.
The students work together on many class projects, in addition to receiving academic instruction. Daily living and vocational skills are practiced as well.
My Project
We are in need of 3 coffee carafe (pumps) and a carafe holder for our student led coffee cart.
During coffee cart students sell coffee to staff, collect money and interact with others.
Students are interacting with customers by asking if they would like coffee, how many sugars and cream. Breakfast is also a choice the students must offer to customers. Saying thank you and have a good day / weekend is something the students work on each day.
Calculating the cost of a purchase is also an important piece of working at the coffee cart. Students take money and making change.
