This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe in my students who are in my 7th grade class coding class. These students are learning invaluable information in a much needed area. However, demonstrating how to do each step of the coding process is lacking. They are excitable, young boys and girls from (for the most part) non English speaking parents in an inner city school that serves free breakfast and lunch.

My students have done well with the entry level of coding, but now it is getting harder.

Excited to finish each level because it is, indeed, an accomplishment they are eager to progress to the next level.

My Project

We are requesting a projector to demonstrate to my students the next level we are attacking is vitally important to their coding skills. The earlier coding lessons were simple to understand and did not need a visual example.

Now they have progressed to the point of having to write code to get from A to B with as few as moves as possible.

This is no easy feat. By utilizing a projector, they can reference the whiteboard at any time. I can have the students pair up with another student and demonstrate on the whiteboard. I can have the class work together to achieve a level before having to do it individually.

I can see my students being incredibly successful with a projector.
