With new students coming in from Puerto Rico. We need extra support to help support student learning. Students at my school come from a working class neighborhood that is very well integrated. They are every color of the rainbow and come from multiple backgrounds. One thing that they have in common is that many of their families are working multiple jobs and having trouble making ends meet.
Teachers, counselors, and other staff members frequently purchase basic need items for students who are not able to receive them from their families.
This school uses a program of catching students doing the right thing. There is an ongoing conversation about "being a bucket filler" by doing good things. They receive incentive "bucks" for good behavior and deeds.
My Project
Many new students have never seen or used new technology. I want to give my students the same opportunity to learn with new technology. Other areas may not have them available. These items are hands on interactive and fun to use the mouse game is a programmable robot that can be used to move around the board game. These items can be used not matter what language they speak.
Technology is becoming more and more part of our every day lives and my students need to be fluent using computers and programming them.
The Ozobots are something fun for the students to learn programming and use in the classroom with the iPads.I am asking for five Bit Coding Robots, two Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Sets, a Code & Go Mouse Mania Board Game, a starter pack of Sticker Codes and a Construction Accessory Kit. With these resources, my students will have to learn to colorcode sheets of paper to get the Orobots to move.
We are looking forward to using many coding programs in our classroom with their iPads.
