Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a wonderful class of curious students who love hands on experiences and technology. They also love our daily reading of Junie B. Jones books. We recently were able to see the local kids theater group perform a Junie B. Jones musical. We enjoy our daily iPad time. We also love our recess. If it’s raining, we dance ourselves silly with Wii Dance videos or GoNoodle videos. Our class has a great time singing to help us count or learn to spell sight words.

My Project

As adults, my students will have multiple careers to choose from that involve coding. I would like to give them a head start by learning about coding in a fun, age appropriate way! OSMO has a kit that I would like students to learn to use during our center time. It works with iPads, which we are lucky to have! The other OSMO kit covers math and reading activities, which my students are always happy to do. But they need different experiences to increase their curiosity. OSMO increases the iPad’s usability in a way they haven’t experienced in our classroom.
