As a librarian in a PreK - 6th grade school, I have the opportunity to teach and serve 575 students on a weekly basis. Our students are from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Each week, students visit the library to read, research, design, and learn using various technology driven teaching strategies.
Our library is an essential part of each student's learning experience.
Each week we strive to provide support to students with experiences that will enhance and expand what they are learning in the classroom.
My Project
The elementary school years are a special time in a child's life. Most students come to school excited about learning and ready to jump into new opportunities. This excitement about learning makes it the perfect time to introduce students to coding.
In today's constantly changing world, students need to be problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Dash, Botley, and Code and Go Robot Mouse will provide my students with the opportunity to develop these skills. The robots will guide students on their coding journey as they learn to use commands, loops, conditions, and sequences. These robots will provide my students with the solid foundation needed to develop their coding abilities.
