This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach technology education to all students in an East Harlem Elementary School. Most of my students from low-income households and are significantly behind academically. Many live in temporary homes, and are designated English Language Learners, Student With Disabilities, or both. Yet, they are the most hardworking and enthusiastic bunch.
My students are resilient, curious and tenacious.
They love tinkering away, problem solving and figuring things out. My goal is for all of my students to get access to the resources they need to succeed. No excuses! With your support, I can put these much needed resources into their hands.
My Project
My students need Dash and Dot to help their love for technology grow. My students love checking out all the latest gadgets. These robots will be a fun and exciting way for them to learn how to code. They will love programming the robots and watching their code come to life!
Dash and Dot can change the future for some of my children.
The computer science field is constantly growing and advancing. Computer science is our future. Inspiring a love for coding at an early age can help my students continue to advance in computer science as they grow up
