My Students
My 5th grade students come from a variety of backgrounds and have interests as different as they come. However, they all have one thing in common: they are identified by the state of South Carolina as being "Gifted and Talented". My students excel in most subjects and have a need to be be pushed to their limits. They eat up information quickly and love to learn as much as possible.
My students are our future engineers, computer programmers, architects and inventors!
They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers and questioners. In short, they are destined to make a difference in the world! I strive to inspire their creativity and fuel their desire to learn.
My Project
My students are highly interested in learning to code. Cue is Wonder Workshop's newest robot. It is the big brother of the Dash robot. Cue is a clever robot which allows students to learn to code on their level. This robot can switch between java and block coding allowing students to learn and complete projects on a level that is right for them.
According to their website, "Cue is for the budding inventors and tinkerers, engaging with personality, chat, and advanced robot coding."
My students will use these robots daily to integrate math, problem solving and critical thinking. Learning happens through play and these Cue robots will help my students take their coding skills to a whole new level all while inspiring a love of learning.
