My Students

I am the STEM/Computer Science teacher at a school in New York. The vast majority of my students are from low socio-economic backgrounds and face many hardships in their daily lives.

My students are energetic and curious, and they motivate me to create new and exciting ways to keep them engaged every single day.

They love coming into my STEM classroom because they know they will be challenged to think outside the box with a hands-on task they must work together to solve.

My Project

With Bitsbox, students will learn how to code by creating fun apps that work on computers and tablets. Bitsbox uses a modified version of JavaScript and the commands are easy to use for elementary school students.

Bitsbox is the perfect way to teach coding, as students will build and create apps without any previous experience necessary!

Bitsbox provides monthly subscriptions for at-home use, but these set-of-ten project booklets are perfect for the classroom. Unit one begins with coordinates and basic commands, introducing younger students to computer science skills and concepts. Students will build awesome apps and will be challenged to enhance their understanding of coding.
