My Students

Many of my students have had little exposure to much outside their homes or our community. We live in a small city and our students mostly come from lower income families. They come to school looking for a smiling face and a hug most days.

My classroom is my second home and my students are my kiddos too.

I'm looking to create a warm, loving environment that provides a place to learn and grow. Kindergarten is such an important year for them as learners. Some have never been to preschool so it's important they get a great start to their education!

My Project

I absolutely love the ideas of Spheros in the classroom. We can use them for learning letters and shapes all while they are getting introduced to coding. These spheros will be used in "games" that the students will have to drive the sphero to match a letter, number, shape, spell a word, etc.

The spheros will not only teach letters and numbers, but also challenge the students to process and problem solve.

As they get better at driving them, mazes and puzzles will be added to the activities. The sphero will also be used to create challenges for friends during STEM time.

The possibilities are endless from such a simple toy! It's simple for them to figure out how to drive it, but creates endless possibilities for learning!
