Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive, energetic 10-11 year olds who are eager to learn. In our class, the students are engineers, asking big questions, formulating and testing hypotheses, defending their positions, and finding solutions. Many of my budding engineers come from hard working families that struggle to provide for them. Children who grow up in poverty often struggle to be successful. I strive to provide authentic learning experiences where my students investigate topics of their choice while challenging them to dig deeper and think!

My Project

Coding is the language of the future and understanding technology is not the same thing as using technology. Therefore I want to bring coding to my students. When kids’ unlimited imagination meets a tool with infinite potentialities such as coding, the possibilities are endless. I want my students to have rich, meaningful interactions with technology and coding is the key. The WeDo2 kits I am requesting will enable my students to unlock unlimited potential and help them be productive members of society. They will not only learn to code, but to problem solve, work together, and create solutions to real world problems.
