I want to create a safe, engaging, and educational environment where the students in my classroom want to come and learn.
I teach children with special needs in grades K-5 on a Native American Indian Reservation.
One hundred percent of the student population receives free breakfast and lunch. They come to school eager to learn in spite of living in extreme poverty.
I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly provide positive experiences during the school day.
My Project
The Osmo coding games that we have help teach basic coding skills needed in our ever increasing digital world. We also have money games where the students maintain a restaurant by interacting with digital customers, filling correct orders and making change for purchases. Technology always needs to be updated and we need new devices to be able to continue interacting and learning with our Osmo games.
We need new tablets and bases to be able to play our Osmo coding and math games that help promote creative and logic skills, while teaching financial literacy and basic coding.
The fire tables are less expensive and I am able to get more compared to the price of an iPad.
