My Students

I teach 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. They have a lot of energy and are excited to learn. I want to give my students opportunities that excite them and engage in learning.

I teach engineering classes which help develop problem solving skills.

Developing problem solving skills is something that is invaluable to students and finding new ways to help them do this is something important to me. I want to provide them with meaningful, real world assignments that are relevant to them and their future.

My Project

I would like to give my classes the opportunity to learn some basic coding and some basic robotics. The Sphero Robots will give students a hands-on opportunity to learn code and learn about robotics.

They are simple enough that an inexperienced student will find success yet complicated enough that they can challenge the experienced.

Occupations that use skills that robotics and coding can help develop are so important to today's students. I envision students using Sphero robots individually, and in pairs. I teach 7-9 grade and I will use them in all of my classes. Some classes, I will use them more as an introduction and others, we will go more in depth.
