Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a wide range of economic backgrounds as well as general education, Special Education, English as a Second Language, and other specific learning populations.
We are embarking on our first year with a STEM Lab and are in need of hands-on, meaningful materials for activities supporting key standards and SEL learning.
My Project
This project will bring multiple coding opportunities to my STEM students including Botley robots, a device-free coding pack, and three Makey Makeys.
After becoming familiar with the concept of coding and programming in general, I want to give my students the opportunity to see their ideas come to life in various ways.
Each tool will allow students to practice communication skills, coding skills, and their ability to work with others.
The device-free coding resource will introduce the concept of coding to even my youngest learners, and the Botleys and Makey Makeys will help older students expand on what they've learned.
