Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is in a low socioeconomic area with all students receiving free lunch. I teach in an intellectually gifted classroom where students conduct critical thinking activities and independent research based on interests.

My students are learning to code in my gifted classroom!

I must also keep them up-to-date on new technological advances and career choices which requires time, effort and money. Students must also have a different curriculum and academic opportunities they don't usually have in their regular classrooms.

My Project

Ozobots teach students about coding and gives them a chance to develop their own coding skills. They can advance their knowledge about creating apps for phones, programs for computers, and learn all aspects of computer language. It's an ideal way for teachers to meet the needs of students, especially intellectually gifted students, and their future career choices.

Ozobot is a small robot that students create a series of mazes for using codes.

The robot reads the codes that teach students about the basics of computer language. Students can develop their own codes for the robot to follow which provides practice in technology.
