Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, we believe all students deserve the best education possible. We work hard on a daily basis to assure that we are taking advantage of all resources available to assure all our scholars have easy access to what is being taught. We are a Title I school located in the heart of the South Bronx.
We believe our students' zip code will not determine their outcome.
Every day, we work hard to make sure that our students see themselves as future leaders and game changers who are capable of what ever they put their minds to.
My Project
I run the exploration lab for pre-k to 2nd grade and Concourse Village. In this class students are encouraged to explore, build, create and imagine. Scholars use the engineering design process to solve everyday problems. We are also exploring coding through unplugged and plugged activities.
Our goal is the prepare our scholars to be future engineers, coders, and problem solvers.
The materials will allow scholars to begin coding at the preschool level. The will use Kibo in connection with literacy to bring their knowledge to life. Our scholars will be given an opportunity to explore technology and expand their problem-solving skills.
