Coding Makes the World Go 'Round

My Students

Have you ever had to start over? Every four years? Our school is located on Air Force base housing with a 100% military population. My students have worldly experience through their deployments and military life experience. They are determined, responsible, and have empathy toward their peers. They have a variety of backgrounds and schema based on their military lives. This can, at times, hinder their progress in academics. However, our students are pushing through any obstacles that they face -- and will continue to do so!

My Project

In a world where computer programming will soon become as important as reading and writing, students need more opportunities to dive into this possible career path.

The Sphero robotics will allow my students to explore the world of computer programming through intense coding and gaming opportunities.

By using ramps, blocks and other obstacles, my students will be able to work together to problem-solve through the Sphero apps. The Sphero robots are durable and water-proof which will allow for more "play" without having to worry about damaging them. The Sphero robots can be used outdoors as well, which will allow for blending of cross-curricular subjects.
