As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
They like to move, they love to read, and love lots of positive attention. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control what happens outside of school; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My kids need to experience hands-on activities to prepare them for the future in technology.
My kids are creative thinkers.
As kids learn to program they build key skills that include critical thinking, problem solving, sequencing, and programming fundamentals.
This type of education helps kids to learn the basic inner workings of computers. Kids can feel successful at getting a computer to do what they tell it to do. This foundation can set kids up for a lifetime of successful use and management of the technology in their everyday lives.
OSMO Coding, Go and Code Mouse, Bit Coding Robot Set, will help my students become prepared for the future in coding.
