Our class is comprised of 24 hardworking scholars. These academically gifted students come from a variety of backgrounds but are all eager to learn. As academically gifted students, they have a thirst for knowledge that is simply insatiable.
These scholars are builders, thinkers, and innovators.
They are active, passionate, and have a drive to accomplish big things in life. Our diverse classroom is an exciting place where discussions become lively and the projects students make exude creativity. In our classroom, the powerful connections these students make to the world around them often makes you forget you are with 9 and 10 year old students!
My Project
Having a classroom iPad will allow us to use a variety of coding apps whenever the occasion arises. Last year, we received a grant for several codable robotic devices which students have found great ways to connect to our curriculum, however, we do not always have access to the technology to code the devices. A classroom iPad will enhance students independent study projects and allow them to demonstrate their learning in new ways. Students will be able to code these robots using an iPad to model how the planets revolve around the Sun, to illustrate plane geometric concepts, and to demonstrate geospatial relationships.
