My students need Osmo coding systems to apply math and reading into engaging technology activities.

I teach at a free, chartered K-6 public elementary school that is committed to providing an equitable and empowering education for all. Our students have come from all around the world, from many different countries and have either experienced life as refugees or are children of refugees. A majority of our students are English Language Learners and more than 90 percent of our student population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch.
This upcoming school year will be my first full year as a classroom teacher.
I began my position in November at a multi-age 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, after my class went through 3 different teachers in just the first three months of school. I will continue to build relationships with my 2nd graders in this upcoming school year as a third grade teacher in the school. These students need someone in their lives who is going to be present and support them without fear of abandonment. I hope to be this person for these students as we grow into a classroom community. These students have the potential to be amazing, but need an encouraging teacher and engaging resources to challenge and develop their skills.
Most of my students do not have access to technology at home. Technology is such an important part of our world today, that experiencing technology based activities is critical. I was able to attend a technology for education summit, where I learned about the Osmo Coding systems and experienced them first hand. The experiences these systems provided amazed me and will allow even my lowest scoring students to achieve.
The Osmo Coding systems provide incredible opportunities for reading, writing, and math in interactive, visual, and engaging formats.
STEM will be a major focus of my classroom this year, and these systems would be an amazing addition to our exploration.
