Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My amazing students are high poverty, minority students who have everything against them. I am working hard to give them a positive learning environment and introduce them to experiences that may not always have been available to them.
My students learn best while working on hands-on activities, and they enjoy working on fun projects.
With this project I give the students a fun way to learn to work with computers and logically figure out how to solve problems and think critically.
My Project
Microbits are a basic way to introduce coding and programming to beginners. With these microbits students will be able to practice working with code and seeing their successes firsthand.
Most students today will be employed in career fields that don't even exist yet, and by bringing coding into the classroom they get a leg up on the competition.
I want to make sure my students have every opportunity, and by giving them the chance to have fun while coding I can help open up their futures.
With this project we are opening up the world of technology to the future and not just limiting technology to where it is now.
