New math standards ask students to explore mathematics using technology to graph and analyze data. Collecting data and analyzing it on a calculator helps make math relevant and interesting to teenagers.
Even if they don't love math, they work hard and appreciate using technology that is interactive in the classroom.
The school is a Title I school with an increasing number of students qualifying for free or reduced price lunch. This means that more students need extra support in acquiring necessary supplies for success in their classes.
The TI-Nspire Handheld is used in class by students to learn and explore mathematics. It also can be used as a coding device.
Using the TI-Nspire, TI-Innovator, and TI-Rover will incorporate coding into the high school math classroom motivating students to think above and beyond.
The TI-Innovator Hub is a device that students can program to make noise or control other electronic devices thus make coding and engineering design accessible to students in the classroom. The TI-Rover is controlled by the TI-Innovator and the TI-Nspire. Students program the TI-Rover to move. TI-Rover promotes collaborative problem solving and makes the learning visible.
