I have the pleasure of teaching the best kindergarten students around. Despite the challenges many of my learners face before even getting to school each day, they come to school excited for the next learning adventure. We work hard to maintain a positive environment that also motivates them to learn new concepts. My students are creative, inquisitive, and hands-on learners!

We strive to incorporate technology into our everyday routines, to help our students meet the demands of today's world, and prepare them for the future. In order to achieve this goal, we try to engage students in a variety of technological experiences. This can be a challenge with younger students, as our resources are limited. Though we are fortunate enough to have iPads and Chromebooks to help us create a variety of learning experiences for students, I would like to provide them with more to enrich their experiences. When they use technology in the classroom, my students' engagement increases exponentially, and their intrinsic desire to learn is amazing to watch bloom!
My Project
It can be difficult to find materials to use in kindergarten that really keep them engaged. The Code & Go Robot Mouse and Botley the Coding Robot will not only engage them, but also introduce them to the world of coding. STEAM is so important in schools, but on limited budgets, it is difficult to get these items into their hands.
We have recently become a one-to-one classroom with iPads, and it has been really great seeing the engagement and excitement when learning how to use new apps and all of the things they can do with this technology.
I also teach an after school gifted program where the students have been asking to have more hands-on learning materials that push them. I am trying to build up a collection of materials that will push them, engage them, and expand their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
