Technology is a key component of our classroom culture. Any by technology, I mean more than just a computer.
Today's students need to be technologically literate.
It is so important for their college and work lives. In my kindergarten classroom, we have laptops and iPads. As I become more technologically savvy, I like to try new things with my students, weather it is reading online, participating in math and/or reading enrichment, or completing STEM activities.
Recently, my students were able to experience Osmo Coding Awbie.
Steve Jobs said: "Everybody should learn how to program a computer, because it teaches you how to think."
With this program, my students are doing that, and MORE! Coding Awbie teaches logic skills and problem solving. Most importantly, it helps kids learn to succeed in an increasingly digital world!
My project would provide some very needy, and well-deserving students with these coding programs, as well as the stands needed to hold the iPads, and storage for the components.
Please, help me help my students become more a part of the digital world we live in! Thank you!
My Project
Technology is such a huge part of our ever-changing world. This project will give my kindergartners a jump-start on participating in the digital world around them!
They will thrive when they use these coding tiles, with an interactive game.
It will spark their imagination and ignite their problem-solving skills!
Students who prefer to work on their own, can do just that. For students who are social, and enjoy problem-solving with a partner, they can work together, practicing turn-taking and cooperative learning! They will be using their minds, all the while, having FUN!
Most importantly, these materials will help my students deepen their wealth of technology skills and knowledge!
