My Students

My students are 44 sixth grade boys and girls who are ready to learn in an exciting environment.

They are full of energy and really thrive on hands-on, interactive lessons in the classroom.

As with many other rural community schools in the state of Illinois, we are in a tremendous economic struggle. There simply isn't enough money in the budget to fulfill the requests of so many of our teachers. My duty as an educator is to do everything within my power to help my students succeed.

My Project

Imagine a world where sixth-grade students are learning to code and, in turn, are shaping the future! That world is here and now. A Botley the Coding Robot is the perfect way to help my students get a fun beginning in the world of STEM education.

Coding has been proven to improve performance in math, writing, creativity, and confidence.

Students will learn focus and organizational skills, as well as strengthen their proficiency in resilience and communication.

By beginning coding at an early age, students will be paving the paths to their futures. What an amazing opportunity to be able to empower our children!
