Coding Fun With Botley!

Help me give my students a chance to code with 'Botley the Coding Robot'. After students learn about Algorithms in they will then be able to experience coding their own robots!

My Students

I am a Technology Teacher who also teaches Science to all of the K-2 students in 2 schools. My students are so excited about learning Technology and always come to class with smiles on their faces. I have lots of different style learners in my classes as well as students who speak many different languages. I love what I do because I feel that it reaches so many children on different levels.some kids have many opportunities at home to practice using Technology and others only use it at school. It is a very exciting subject to teach.

Because I see so many students (600 each week) my goal is to reach all of them in a positive way and to hopefully witness their 'ah ha' moment when they succeed and can relate to what I am teaching on a personal level.

This to me is the reason I teach the subject that I do. One of the favorites of my students in all three grade levels is coding. The students love to work with programs to learn to code and then take what they have learned and apply it to different robots that we use in the classroom.

My Project

Children learn by doing and the hands on experiences will stay with them for a long time to come. The students will be able to learn about Algorithms and coding and then see it in action by Coding their own Robots to perform tasks!

Who says that you have to be in High School in order to experience coding and building programs to control robots, learning to code can start in Kindergarten!

This project will make a difference in the students lives by creating a lasting memory for all of the children. Through the robots, the students will have to learn to work together to write codes to help their robots move.
