My Students

I am a newly credentialed second-year kindergarten teacher in a Title 1 school. The student population is extremely diverse, most of which come from low-income families. They not only deal with the challenges of living in a borderline impoverished environment, they must also overcome the challenges of learning while dealing with these hardships. The reality is many of these students are against the odds of ever graduating. However, I feel it is my responsibility to give each and every one of them the chance to learn and be successful.

Each day they amaze me with their eagerness to learn, which instills in me the desire to do more, teach more, and be every bit of a positive influence in their lives.

My mindset is simple; every student deserves the same opportunity to be successful!

My Project

This Bee Bot is ideal for helping kids understand cause & effect, directional language & early programming. It will challenge students to use complex thinking as they carry out programming multi-step codes. This high engagement activity provides students with an increase in both literacy and math skills.

Most importantly, students will have equal access to technology to develop their skills for 21st century learning.

The programmable robot - Bee Bot, also allows for help with English Language Learners as they learn to increase their vocabulary.

Finally, the Bee Bot levels the playing field for all children and allows them the opportunities to build literacy and math skills while working together.
