The students in my classroom are diverse in ethnicity, economics, and academics. We are a Title I, dual-language (Spanish and Vietnamese) school in a busy Seattle neighborhood. My students speak a variety of languages including Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Somali among others. However, one common denominator is that they all work hard and want more. They want more knowledge, and they love to learn! In order to do that, they need the materials that can help them be successful and WANT to continue to be lifelong learners.
Botley The Coding Robot will provide my first graders with their very first coding experience! Being able to use a set of Botley Robots to share within our class will be a fun way to incorporate coding into our classroom.
Botley will have our first graders actively engaged and away from a screen, learning early STEM skills in minutes, and developing critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Botley The Coding Robot will also help my first grade class to develop and grow their social-emotional and collaboration skills by sharing, working together, and articulating the problems they encounter, what their next moves might be, and solutions.
The possibility of this experience in my class excites both me and my young students! We are excited at the opportunity to learn more about Botley and develop STEM skills in the classroom!
