Unfortunately, most of my students have a rough life out of school.
Some don't know where their next meal is going to come from, and others go without proper care due to low income.
By creating room transformations, I am able to help students take a break from 'life' and focus on the tasks at hand. Help me make learning amazing for these awesome students and allow them to put those bad things on hold while they focus on their learning.
My Project
I attended a workshop recently on coding. I was amazed at the information I received! I want to take what I learned and use it to engage my students!
How amazing would it be to combine coding with all subject areas!
This morning our music teacher came in and showed me how she purchased a coding Mouse Bot to have students practice coding as well as finding instruments with the Mouse Bot! So Cool! I was so thrilled with the idea, I immediatly came to DonorsChoose.org to create a project for Learning Resources Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Set, Learning Resources Code & Go Robot Mouse, and a ALEX Toys Future Coders Bunny Trails Stem Activity set. I have to have this for my kids! The ideas began to race through my head of all the ways we could use this in our classroom! Not only would my students be reviewing skills needed in our academics, but starting a journey with coding, which in the long run could really be beneficial to them. Did you know there are many job openings in the computer science world, they need more women, and that the pay is great! I could have the next super star coder in my classroom!
