Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher from a middle-class, urban school district in Northeastern Pennsylvania, 75% of our students come from disadvantaged or single parent families. Many students lack real-world experiences that professionals take for granted. All students in my district receive free breakfast and lunch.

Most of my students have had little to no tech or STEM experience.

Allowing students to be more creative and use their imagination will help to jumpstart their interest in many science fields. We can’t wait. Let’s get started!

My Project

This Sphero Bolt will help improve my students ability to code, and allow them to use some of their newly learned material in science experiments. Sphero can help my students with lessons in velocity and speed. It can also help with Math in area and perimeter activities. The Sphero app is a great tool for the area and perimeter, as it allows the students to draw objects or shapes and then check the measurements, and use their math skills to find the area, or perimeter. My students love working with the Sphero minis and sparks we have, but this Bolt will complete our group.
