This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher at a school with a diverse population. We serve middle-class students, military students, and low-income families. No matter the background, my students come to school ready to learn. They love to learn new things, they love to read, and they love to explore. It is my job to make sure this zest for learning never dies.
My superheroes have encouraged me to grow as a teacher!
They continually surprise me, on a daily basis, with their ability to learn and grasp concepts! I wouldn't change my job in a million years! My students leave an imprint on my heart, for they are kind, affectionate, and loving!
My Project
This year I have begun to teach outside of the box, by incorporating coding, STEM, and robotics. My students are excited and engaged thanks to STEM, and I want to keep this excitement about STEM alive in the hearts of my students! The iPad and Osmo coding game will help me to do just that!

I have grown so much as a teacher as well. STEM was very new to me, but I wanted to create an environment where my students can explore, learn, and grow! I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and added STEM to my day!
The iPad I am requesting will allow my students to play the Osmo coding game. I chose the Osmo coding game because it is easier for my kindergarteners to code Mowbie through the maze. They have to count how many times they have to make Mowbie move, jump, or turn throughout the maze. Not only will they be practicing coding, but they will be practicing counting as well! I love it when an activity allows my students to practice more than one skill! My superheroes will have to think critically, collaborate, and problem solve as they code Mowbie.
